Actress Yasmien Kurdi said law school may come with its share of stress, but it provides her with healing after what her family went through when she filed a bullying complaint over what her daughter experienced in school.

In a Facebook post, Kurdi shared why law school became her “healing ground.”

She said it was something that distracted her from the “pain and trauma” of pursuing the complaint, only for the bullying to remain unaddressed.

She recalled that her daughter was hospitalized for two weeks and had to be in therapy for six months.

Her daughter also had to stop classes and repeat the entire school year, which had to be completed in two to three months.

Because of the stress, Kurdi said she developed severe urticaria or hives and had to be rushed to the emergency room.

She said enrolling in law school gave her purpose after that stressful time.

“Hindi ibig sabihin na walang stress sa law school. Pero ibang klaseng stress siya. Kasi may choice ka naman kung mag-stay ka o hindi. It keeps my mind occupied, gives me purpose, and helps me focus on something positive instead of constantly reliving what happened.

Kaya for me, law school became my healing ground,” she said.

Kurdi is currently enrolled at the Arellano University School of Law.
