Yaaaaasssss! Chel Diokno happy to prove Duterte wrong as DLSU College of Law breaks into Bar exams’ top 10
De La Salle University College of Law founding dean Chel Diokno is elated that the school has made it to the list of topnotchers for the 2018 Bar exams.
In a statement, Diokno said he was overjoyed by the news that DLSU College of Law alumna Katherine Ting placed eighth in the Bar exams, with a grade of 84.8570 percent.
Ting’s feat is even more laudable considering that only 1,800 of the 8,155 aspiring abogados who took the 2018 Bar exams passed, reflecting a passing rate of 22.07 percent.
“Talagang sobrang tuwa ko nang malaman ko na nakapag-top 10 na ang De La Salle,” Diokno said.
President Rodrigo Duterte had taken a jab at Diokno’s competence last month, saying he was the reason why DLSU College of Law has yet to break into the Bar exams’ list of topnotchers.
Diokno congratulated all Bar exam passers and encouraged those who failed to try again.
“Dapat talaga babalik-balikan natin ‘yan. Fight nang fight. Darating rin ang araw na lahat ay makapasa,” he said.
