Wanted: Judges in PH courts
The Supreme Court needs 675 experienced abogados to deliver justice in various levels of the system.
Data from Supreme Court spokesperson Atty. Brian Hosaka, the high court needs to embark on a massive hiring spree after realizing hundreds of unfilled posts in the lower courts.
A breakdown supplied to media showed that as of December 31, 2020, majority of the vacancies were in the regional trial courts, where 296 presiding judges are needed nationwide.
This is followed by 60 openings in family courts, 55 in Metropolitan Trial Courts, 59 in Municipal Trial Court in Cities. 85 in Municipal Trial Courts, and 84 for Municipal Circuit Trial Courts.
The high court also needs to fill four seats in the Shari’a District Courts and 32 in Shari’a Circuit Courts in the country.
