Walang pasok! SC suspends work in courts for Holy Week
The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday announced its modified work schedule for the Holy Week, starting with a half-day work on Wednesday.
“In order to allow workers in the Judiciary who need to travel to the provinces to observe the Lenten break on Maundy Thursday (April 18) and Good Friday (April 19) Chief Justice Lucas P. Bersamin, pursuant to the approved SC calendar has ordered a half-day work schedule on April 17 (Wednesday) for the Supreme Court and for all courts nationwide,” announced the Supreme Court Public Information Office in a statement.
Courts located inside local government-owned or controlled buildings shall observe a whole-week work suspension on April 17, should the same be declared by their local governments, otherwise the said courts shall observe a half-day work schedule on Wednesday.
The SC en banc has recently terminated its summer session in Baguio City to go on a decision-writing break and will resume regular session in June.
It may, however, meet from time to time in special sessions during the said break. (PNA)
