Vice President Sara Duterte declared a net worth of P98.66 million in 2025, with her statements of assets, liabilities, and net worth mostly showing increases since she entered public service with P7.25 million in 2007.
The prosecution presented Duterte’s SALNs in her impeachment trial in relation to allegations that she amassed unexplained wealth.
Lawyer Karen Batu, officer-in-charge of the Office of the Ombudsman’s Records Division, confirmed Duterte’s SALNs when she testified in the trial on Tuesday.
Duterte started in public service in 2007 as vice mayor of Davao City, declaring a net worth of P7.25 million.
Her net worth more than doubled in 2008 to P18.49 million and hardly changed the following year.
In 2010, it dropped to P16.24 million, and further declined to P14.27 million in 2011.
But it then grew to P22.11 million in 2012.
Duterte was not in public office from 2013 to 2015.
When she returned to government service in 2016 as Davao City Mayor, she declared a net worth of P34.89 million. It increased in the years that followed.
For 2022, when she was elected Vice President, her net worth was at P71.66 million.
It increased to P77.51 million in 2023, and to P88.51 million in 2024. In 2025, her net worth stood at P98.66 million.
Sen. Erwin Tulfo asked if it is against the law for an official’s net worth to grow, and Batu said it is usual for officials to record an increase in their SALNs.
“Sa akin pong palagay po, nagkakaroon po talaga tayo ng increase sa ating mga SALNs,” she said.
