VP Sara says she fears for her life: ‘Pakiramdam ko papatayin nila ako’

Following the issuance of an arrest warrant against her, Vice President Sara Duterte said she fears for her safety and feels that she may be killed.

In a statement, Duterte said she has documented threats and harassment she has been experiencing since 2023 and is worried that her children could be harmed.

“I fear for my children. I do not feel they are safe if I am with them,” she said.

She said she left the place where her children are staying to go to court, but she lamented that police still went to that place.

“I do not feel safe. Pakiramdam ko papatayin nila ako,” she said.

The Quezon City Regional Trial Court on Friday ordered Duterte’s arrest in her grave threats case stemming from her statement that she had told somebody to kill the President, the First Lady, and the former Speaker if she were killed.

Bail was set at P120,000 for each of the three counts of grave threats in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
