Vice President Sara Duterte complained about authorities going to the area where her mother and children are staying, calling it “child abuse” and saying her children should be spared from harassment.
In a statement, Duterte said she has learned since 2024 that the Marcos administration supposedly has plans against her.
Because her security is a concern for the armed forces, given that she is in the line of succession, she said she related to Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo Brawner her request to respect and protect her mother and children.
She said she asked Brawner to exclude them from any action to be taken against her.
But she raised a concern after authorities went to where they were staying.
Ito ay child abuse,” she said.
On Saturday, before posting bail in her grave threats case, the Vice President said she fears for her children and does not feel they are safe if she is with them.
She also feels she is at risk.
“Pakiramdam ko papatayin nila ako,” she said.
Duterte was charged with grave threats for saying she told somebody to kill the President, the First Lady, and the former Speaker if she were killed.
An arrest warrant was issued against her and she posted P360,000 bail before the court.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government denied harassing Duterte and said the police were in coordination with her security officials after the warrant was issued.
