VP Sara blames Marcos admin for school shootings

Vice President Sara Duterte said the recent school shooting in South Cotabato, the third such incident this year, reflects what she said was widespread violence in the country that has been worsened by the government’s failure to keep Filipinos safe.

In a statement, Duterte blamed the Marcos administration’s lapses for this tragedy.

She said children’s safety is compromised when the government is more focused on political consolidation over fundamental governance.

“The Marcos administration has failed the victims and survivors of the South Cotabato tragedy. Countless more Filipino children remain at risk of becoming casualties of this government’s incompetence and neglect,” she said.

“We deserve better leadership than this,” she said.

According to Duterte, violence in the country has been worsened because the government fails to provide a safe, peaceful, and comfortable life to Filipinos.

She also accused the government of focusing on political survival instead of taking meaningful action to address the country’s problems.

“Para kasi sa administrasyong Marcos, mas madali ang maging inutil, magnakaw, at magsamantala kaysa magsilbi nang tapat sa bayan,” she said.
