VP Sara appoints Paolo Panelo as her new spokesperson

Vice President Sara Duterte has appointed lawyer Paolo Panelo as her new spokesperson, tasking him with conveying her views and positions to the public.

“In this capacity, Atty. Paolo will serve as the official point of communication, representing the views and positions of the Vice President and engaging with the media and public on relevant matters,” the Office of the Vice President said in a statement.

The OVP said he would be making important information more accessible, clear, and easier for the public to understand.

In a statement, Panelo thanked Duterte for her trust and said he is honored to take on the role of her spokesperson.

“Handa akong gampanan ang tungkuling ito sa abot ng aking makakaya, at nang may pagmamahal sa bayan na tanda ng kanyang paglilingkod,” he said.

Panelo is also representing Duterte in the perjury complaints she filed against Ramil Madriaga, who alleged that he served as her bagman, delivering money to several parties on her orders.

Panelo is the son of Salvador Panelo, who served as chief presidential legal adviser for her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.
