Fact check: UP calls out Calida for quoting wrong author in tweet

The University of the Philippines Diliman Library has laughed at Solicitor General Jose Calida for erroneously attributing a quote in his Twitter post to another author.

In his tweet @SolGenCalida, Calida said “integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching” and attributed it to famous British author CS Lewis.

But after “fact-checking” Calida’s post, the UPD Library disclosed that it wasn’t Lewis who wrote it, but Charles Marshall in the book titled Shattering the Glass Slipper.

Marshall said in his book: “Integrity is doing the right thing when you don’t have to—when no one else is looking or will ever know—when there will be no congratulations or recognition for having done so.”
