University of San Agustin Law named champion at DivinaLaw-UST Philippine Jessup Cup

The University of San Agustin Law emerged as the national champion during the 2024 DivinaLaw-UST Philippine Jessup Cup held at the University of Santo Tomas from February 23 to 25.

Ateneo de Manila University was the first runner up, while the University of the Philippines, and University of San Carlos also made it to the top 4.

The top 4 teams will compete in the Jessup International Rounds in Washington, DC this April.

The San Beda College Alabang School of Law will also compete as an Exhibition Team.

Jessup is the largest moot court competition in the world, with around 700 law schools participating. It simulates a fictional dispute between parties before the International Court of Justice.

In the Philippine Jesup Cup, UP bagged the Best Applicant Memorial recognition, while Best Respondent Memorial and Best Overall Memorial went to Ateneo de Manila University.

University of San Agustin’s Marco Giorgione Dava was named Best Oralist in the championship match.

A total of 21 teams competed this year, which is the biggest tournament so far in the Philippine Jessup Cup, according to the organizers.
