Trillanes suffers another setback as RTC affirms revival of his rebellion case
The Makati City regional trial court on Monday junked opposition Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV’s appeal questioning the revival of his rebellion case in connection with the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.
This as Branch 150 Presiding Judge Elmo Alameda denied Trillanes’ motion for reconsideration due to his failure to “prove the alleged application form exists,” and instead
affirmed his order for the senator’s arrest and issuance of hold departure order against him.
Alameda stood pat on his earlier ruling that the senator failed to prove that he has complied with the minimum requirements when he applied for amnesty during the previous administration.
“Unfortunately, Sen. Trillanes failed to prove that the original of the alleged application form exists. Sen. Trillanes even failed to explain his failure to locate or find the copy thereof,” the order read.
