Trillanes blasts new PNP complaint for kidnapping
Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Friday blasted the latest Philippine National Police’s complaint, saying it was a clear case of “harrassment and persecution of Duterte against his critics.”
In a statement, the opposition leader said that he never met complainant Guillermina Lalic Barrido alias Guillerma Arcillas, but admitted that he knows her as someone with information against the President’s alleged illegal activities.
“Ang impormasyon ko dyan ay isa syang nagboluntaryong mag testigo laban daw kay Duterte pero butas butas ang kwento at nanghihingi diumano ng pera kapalit ng kanyang salaysay kaya hindi tinanggap bilang testigo. Tapos ng hindi nabigyan ng pera, bumaliktad,” he added
Earlier, the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group lodged a kidnapping with serious illegal detention case against Trillanes and three others before the Department of Justice.
Likewise named respondents were Fr. Albert Alejo, lawyer Jude Sabio, a certain “Sister Ling” of the “Convent of Cannussian Sisters” in Makati City, and other unidentified persons.
In her affidavit, Barrido claimed she received a plane ticket from Alejo from General Santos City to Manila in 2016.
Barrido said Alejo and Sabio picked her up and brought her to the Convent of Cannussian Sisters in Makati where she was allegedly detained from December 6 to 21, 2016
Barrido continued that she was transferred from the convent to the Holy Spirit Convent by Alejo, Sabio, Sister Ling, and an alleged staff of Vice President Leni Robredo.
Furthermore, she added that Trillanes had repeatedly called her, telling her she cannot leave unless she signs the affidavit.
“It is clear from the foregoing that herein respondents feloniously, maliciously, and intentionally put the complainant under detention for 14 days in order to force her to do something against her will,” the PNP-CIDG complaint read in part
