Tip of the iceberg: Ted Te shares FLAG statement on DOJ drug war review

Former SC spokesperson Ted Te shared the statement of FLAG regarding the drug war cases review by the DOJ.

The Free Legal Assistance Group called the 52 cases as barely scratching the surface as they question the lack of documentation and punishment imposed on police officers involved.

In the statement, FLAG said that this does not completely show the repercussions of the war on drugs through these cases especially after President Rodrigo Duterte used national security as a means to restrict access to other incidents. FLAG Chair Chel Diokno said that it only showed what human rights advocates knew all along and called for a wider review and called the penalties meted as inconsequential as most only experienced a suspension.

They also called on the DOJ to prosecute those who were found to be responsible.
