Teddy Locsin lashes out at ‘maladminsitered’ FDA: Don’t give people the runaround!

Even Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Locsin is losing his patience over the Food and Drug Administration’s sheer incompetence in facilitating the release of testing kits and medical supplies needed in the war against COVID-19.

“The Food & Drug Administration is maladministered. It gives people wanting to bring in medical supplies the runaround. It should be targeted for severe criticism until its powers are stripped away by the new health emergency act and its administrators,” said Locsin on Twitter.

“IF THAT IS PUNISHED…I am not allowed to say on Twitter what I know from political philosophy is the solution. But it is sanguinary,” he added.

Locsin was surprised to find out that FDA was operating with bare bone staff despite its critical role in the release of medical supplies.

“O, sorry FDA, it turns out you have only ONE staff handling all requests. You’ve given a whole new meaning to SKELETON STAFF. What you have is a single BONE staff member,” said Locsin.

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian also shared his frustration over the delays in the release of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies by the Department of Health which has endangered the health and lives of doctors and nurses in the frontlines.
