Former Supreme Court spokesperson Theodore Te made a point against the community legal aid service (CLAS) rule, which requires new lawyers to render free legal aid.

Under the CAS rule, the Supreme Court orders incoming lawyers to provide 120 hours of pro bono legal work for poor litigants

“Hope the text of the new Clinical Legal Education Rule can be released by SC in time for the first semester,” Te said in a tweet.

“Thinking out loud—can the CLAS rule be suspended first, or even abolished? I wrote about the CLAS rule sometime back—,” he added.
