Taking the lead: Dianna Dela Guerra advocates for law students’ mental health

Atty. Dianna Dela Guerra is going beyond the simple role of a law professor. The abogada recently shared the new questions she is asking at the start of the class for the benefit of her students.

Dela Guerra told her Constitutional Law class to let her know if they are experiencing any mental health issues. The abogada stated that sharing this information is purely voluntary and must come from consenting individuals.

The abogada said this is part of the consideration she gives to the students so she can also manage her expectations as their professor. She wrote that she ” try to think of ways to adapt/modify how I handle them.”

She also wrote that she may not be the best person or confidant for someone with mental health issues. However, she wants to rid people of the stigma that comes with the illnesses experienced by most people.

Sounds like a plan to me!
