Superwoman! Dot Gancayco celebrates mom’s 104th birthday

Lawyer and TV host Dot Gancayco recently celebrated the 104th birthday of her mother, lawyer Michaelina Ramos Balasbas, saying she remains her inspiration and strength.

In a Facebook post, Gancayco shared stories that showed just how spirited her mother is.

She said her mother, who had been Miss Manila Law in the 1940s, likes to tell her that they have the same face, but that she is more beautiful than her daughter.

She also recalled that when her mother was nearly 103 years old, she endured a 13-hour trip to her hometown in Ilocos Sur, and another 12-hour trip back to Manila.

Another notable fact about her mother is her legendary love for beer, wine, or any alcohol drink.

“She could outdrink all her sons-in-law, sons, and nephews any time of the day,” she added.
