Source: SC to reprimand Sereno over quo warranto comments
The Supreme Court (SC) is set to come up with a resolution reprimanding ousted chief justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno for supposedly criticizing the high court in voting for her ouster via a quo warranto.
A well-placed source, who spoke on condition of anonymity for lack of authority to speak, revealed this on Tuesday.
The source disclosed the SC opted to just reprimand her, but with a stern warning that any repetition would be dealt with harshly.
During the pendency of the quo warranto, Sereno was often seen and quoted in reports discussing the case’s merits.
She was also accused of imputing malice and bias on the part of Associate Justices Teresita Leonardo-De Castro, Diosdado Peralta, Lucas Bersamin, Francis Jardeleza, Samuel Martires, and Noel Tijam, whom she asked to inhibit.
