Sereno: Doing what’s right is not easy, but try anyway

Maria Lourdes Sereno urged people to make the effort to do what is right, even if it is not always easy.

Sereno, who was ousted as Supreme Court Chief Justice, said she has learned that despite the difficulties, people should try to do the right thing.

“I may not be able to change everything, but I can do what is within my power. I can choose integrity. I can stand for what is right. And I can trust God to walk with me through the consequences,” she said in a social media post.

She also said doing the right thing comes with many blessings, which include peace of mind.

In the long run, people will give thanks that they did what is right, she added.

“So if you find yourself in a difficult situation, don’t be afraid to take the first step. You must try. Do what is right. Trust God with the rest. And you may be surprised by how much blessing can come from simply choosing what is right,” she said.
