The Bureau of Internal Revenue on Friday filed a tax evasion case against the operator of a security agency for her alleged refusal to settle taxes amounting to P17 million.

The respondent was identified as Anne Gil Rachel Labao, proprietress of San Miguel Protective Security in Iligan City.

In a complaint filed before the Department of Justice, the BIR disclosed that Labao was served with several tax collection notices for taxable years 2010-2011, which she allegedly ignored.

“The respondent’s failure and continued refusal to settle the long overdue deficiency taxes constitute willful failure to pay the taxes due the government,” the BIR said. #
