SC: Signing of Roll of Attorneys for new lawyers to push through tomorrow
The Supreme Court on Thursday announced that the signing of Roll of Attorneys will proceed as scheduled tomorrow, July 31, until August 3, 2020 despite the declaration of court holiday in observance of Eid al-Ahda.
This developed as SC Public Information Office chief Brian Keith Hosaka disclosed that as of this writing, 1,725 Bar passers have already signed in the roll.
Earlier, the SC disclosed that there will be no work in all courts nationwide tomorrow, Friday, in observance of Eid’l Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice.
This as Malacañang in Proclamation No. 985 series of 2020, declared July 31, 2020 as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Adha.
Eid al-Adha commemorates the sacrifice made by Abraham in obedience to Allah’s command. It was traditionally celebrated with a pilgrimage to Islam’s holiest city Mecca.
But due to the COVID-19 outbreak here and abroad, this year’s celebration was expected to be simple yet solemn. #
