SC Justice Gaerlan urges 2026 Bar examinees to persevere, hold on to dreams

Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel H. Gaerlan urged 2026 Bar examinees to remain determined and hold on to their dreams as they prepare to begin the three-day examination this Sunday.

Gaerlan reminded the examinees that their pursuit of a law degree and admission to the legal profession is not only a personal journey but one that also carries significance for their families and the country.

He encouraged them to persevere despite the challenges they faced during their preparation, saying that their hard work and sacrifices should inspire them to remain focused on their goal of becoming lawyers.

Gaerlan, chairperson of the 2026 Bar examinations, said the test is an important step in determining whether aspiring lawyers are ready to assume the greater responsibilities and heavier burdens of the profession.

He noted that lawyers are expected to uphold justice and contribute to public service, thus making it necessary for those seeking admission to the profession to demonstrate the competence and preparedness required of them.

The 2026 Bar examinations will be held on September 6, 9, and 13 in 15 local testing centers nationwide.

As the examinees face one of the most important stages in their legal careers, Gaerlan urged them to keep their aspirations in sight and persevere until they achieve the success they have long worked and sacrificed for.#
