Vice President Sara Duterte would need to get permission from the Quezon City Regional Trial Court and the Office of the President if she wishes to travel abroad while the grave threats charges against her are pending, Malacañang said on Monday.

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro said Duterte’s posting of bail for the charges does not mean that she does need to secure travel authorizations for her foreign trips.

“Sa ngayon po ay hindi po ito napaguusapan pero hindi lamang po ang Office of the President ang dapat na hingian ng permiso para sa kanyang paglalakbay kundi pati po ang korte,” she said.

The Vice President is facing three counts of grave threats over her alleged threat to kill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his family. She posted bail of P 120,000 for each of the three counts on Saturday.
