Roque sets the record straight about Bora dive trip, exposure to staff with COVID
Harry Roque did not flagrantly violate quarantine rules when he went diving in Boracay over the weekend.
The abogado and Presidential Spokesperson set the timeline of events straight during his Tuesday press briefing after he was accused of lying to the public that he’s under isolation for his exposure to a COVID-positive person part of his team, only to share photos of a leisure trip in the summer island a day prior.
He explained that he spent Friday and Saturday in Iloilo at Boracay and got himself tested for COVID-19 on Sunday as he arrived in Manila in preparation for his weekly meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte.
“In other words, from the airport from the Visayas, diretso sa PCR testing at doon po lumabas na positibo iyong staff ko.
Roque added that he didn’t know where his employee got infected, but noted that he was exposed to the man after he was the one who picked the abogado up from the airport last Sunday.
“I never violate the rules. So sa mga kritiko ko po, pasensiya na po… lawyer/law professor, I’m 100% compliant with the rules,” he insisted.
