Ranhilio Aquino on PhilSat TRO: NMAT is unconstitutional too!
San Beda Law Graduate School Dean Ranhilio Aquino is not a fan of the restraining order on the Philippine Law School Admission Test. He seems to think that the logic behind the Supreme Court decision is flawed.
Aquino pointed out that there is nothing stopping academic institutions from imposing stringent measures when it comes to admissions. He noted that this is constitutionally mandated to these schools and is part of their rights under academic freedom.
The dean believes that if one is to follow the belief that PhilSat curtails the people’s right to knowledge, the NMAT should be deemed unconstitutional as well.
