Ralph Sarmiento: I support principles, not personalities

Ralph Sarmiento, University of St. La Salle Vice Chancellor for Administration, clarified that he does take sides as a legal scholar, but he is biased for the truth and principles.

Sarmiento said that when he takes a stand, it is not based on “surnames or color.”

“I also have my biases. I am biased for truth, the rule of law, and what I believe is right,” he said in a Facebook post.

He said he has not supported for or campaigned for any politician.

When he takes a position on an issue, it does not depend on whether he likes the politician involved or not.

“I will not speak against what I believe is right just because it will benefit a politician I dislike. In the same vein, I will not support what I believe is wrong simply because it comes from someone I like,” he said.

“My loyalty is simply to principles, not personalities,” he added.
