P’que court sustains arrest warrant versus Okada
The Parañaque City Regional Trial Court (RTC) has sustained the arrest warrant it issued early this year against gaming tycoon Kazuo Okada and associate Takahiro Usui on charges of estafa.
In a recent order, Branch 257 Presiding Judge Rolando G. How denied Okada and Usui’s motion to quash the arrest warrant.
In affirming the validity of the warrant, the court said it was “not convinced that there is clear absence of probable cause for the issuance of warrant of arrest.”
The case arose from the alleged embezzlement of some $3.1 million from the posh Okada Manila Resort Hotel, when Okada was the chief executive officer and Usui was the chief operating officer of Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment, Inc. (TRLEI).
