Parojinog siblings’ arraignment for drug charges deferred to June
The Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) has deferred to June 15 the arraignment of Ozamiz City Vice-Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and her brother Reynaldo Parojinog Jr.
This came after Branch 79 Judge Nadine Jessica Corazon Fama approved the prosecution’s motion to consolidate the illegal drug charges with those now pending before Branch 105, which handles most of the Parojinogs’ drug and firearms possession cases.
Meanwhile, Fama denied Reynaldo’s appeal to be transferred to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame, where her sister is currently detained.
Reynaldo is currently detained at the Quezon City Jail Annex in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
The Parojinogs were arrested following a July 2017 police operation that led to the death of their parents, Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and Susan Parojinog, and their uncle, Misamis Occidental provincial board member Octavio Parojinog.
President Rodrigo Duterte had publicly accused the Ozamiz City mayor and vice-mayor of being narcopoliticians.
