Palace to Pulong Duterte: Submit docs proving that flood control projects in Davao City were finished

Malacañang on Thursday called on Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte to submit documents that would prove that flood control projects implemented under his leadership were indeed completed.

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro said the documents would establish or debunk Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla’s claims that Davao is the “epicenter” of the flood control mess.

Castro said Duterte should have submitted the documents when the Independent Commission for Infrastructure asked him to do so.

“Siya naman po ang nagboluntaryo. May mga dokumento siya para patunayan na kumpleto ang flood control projects na kanyang ginawa,” she said.

“Mas maganda po kung nasumite niya ’to, mas nakatulong kasi makikita siguro na sampung taon na walang dredging sa Davao City,” Castron added.

Earlier, Duterte disputed Remulla’s description of Davao City and said all places should be investigated.

He claimed to have documents that would prove that projects were completed under his leadership.

Castro said these documents would be helpful, but would not necessarily establish that a project was completed.

“Iba po kasi yung dokumento lang at iba naman po yung talagang totoo, nakikita, nararamdaman at nakakatulong sa problema ng baha,” she said.
