Malacañang has ordered government agencies in 15 provinces to implement alternative work arrangements for Tuesday, September 1 amid continued heavy rains from the southwest monsoon.
Memorandum Circular 133 also directed the conduct of alternative learning arrangements and learning continuity measures in these provinces.
The provinces covered by MC 133 are Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Apayao, Batanes, Nueva Vizcaya, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Bataan.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto approved the directive upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Government agencies whose duties include the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations.
Contract of Service and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements will continue to receive their corresponding wages or salaries.
