The total national tax allotment for Davao City and its barangays from 2022 to 2026 has reached P 52.8 billion, Malacañang said on Friday.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro said of this figure, P 41.63 billion was the NTA for the Davao City government.
The combined NTA of Davao City’s barangays is P 11.17 billion.
“Sa sinasabing walang government funding na nilaan sa Davao City ayon kay Cong. Pulong, ito ang totoo,” Castro said.
In addition, Davao City also received P 314.48 million in various fund releases under the General Appropriations Act from 2022 to 2026.
These are:
P 4.92 million – Special Shares in the Proceeds of National Taxes – Share in the Utilization and Development of National Wealth
P 25.14 million – Special Shares in the Proceeds of National Taxes – Share in Incremental Collections from Value Added Tax
P 175.50 million – Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units
P 18.61 million – Local Government Support Fund – Support to the Barangay Development Program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict
P 10.65 million – Local Government Support Fund – Support and Assistance Fund to Participatory Budgeting
P 79.55 million – Special Shares of Local Government Units in the Proceeds of Fire Code Fees
“Kung pagsasamahin ang P 52.80 billion na NTA at ang P 314.48 million na iba pang releases na nakasaad sa attachment, aabot sa humigit-kumulang P 53.11 billion ang kabuuang pondong nakatala para sa Davao City at mga barangay nito mula FY 2022 hanggang FY 2026,” Castro said.
This sum does not yet include the individual programs and projects of government agencies for Davao City, like the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Transportation, and Department of Agriculture.
Under the 1987 Constitution and the Local Government Code, the NTA represents the automatic and formula-based share of local government units in national internal revenue.
It serves as a primary fund source for local programs, projects, and services.
In January, the Department of Budget and Management released the NTA for 2026 amounting to P 1.19 trillion, which was directly credited to authorized government servicing banks of LGUs.
