Former Sen. Antonio Trillanes shared his findings from looking into the bank records of former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte and alleged that he found a P96 million withdrawal in one day and peso and dollar time deposits that were not in the Vice President’s statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth.
In a press conference, Trillanes said the biggest withdrawal from the joint bank account of Rodrigo and Sara Duterte amounted to P96 million in one day.
“Sino ho bo ang naliliitan sa P96 million galing sa isang pamilya na nung pumasok sa national consciousness, sa national na pulitika, ay nagpapanggap na mga simpleng mga tao, kumakain sa mga karinderya, natutulog sa kulambo,” Trillanes said.
He said the former president made a mistake in making it a joint account because this makes his account his daughter’s, as well.
He also alleged that the money was used to purchase P80 million worth of investment insurance.
Trillanes further alleged that the Vice President had peso and dollar time deposits that were not declared in her SALN when she became Davao City vice mayor in 2007.
He said that in 2007, she had P53.5 million in peso time deposits and $212,000 in dollar time deposits. But in her SALN, she declared only P2 million as cash on hand or in bank.
She had almost the same deposits in 2008.
Trillanes alleged that the deposits ballooned in 2009.
According to him, the peso time deposits grew to P94.78 million, while the dollar time deposits increased to $224,000.
But her declared cash in her SALN remained at P2 million, he added.
In 2010, he said the same time deposits were largely unchanged, but there was now a $1 million life insurance policy.
In her SALN, Sara Duterte declared P3.66 million in cash and P2.67 million in investments, he said.
“Siguro naman yung senator-judges natin, hindi na mababaryahan dito,” he said.
Trillanes made these allegations in a press conference he called a day after withdrawing as a prosecution witness in the Vice President’s impeachment trial.
He said he felt that he was unwelcome at the Impeachment Court after it did not issue a subpoena for his appearance.
