OSG questions NUPL’s petition vs red tagging
The Office of the Solicitor General on Tuesday questioned a petition to stop the alleged harassment and red tagging of the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers (NUPL).
In a hearing at the Court of Appeals, Assistant Solicitor General Angelita Villanueva Miranda disclosed NUPL, which was being represented by the Public Interest Law Center (PILC), failed to include judicial affidavits of their witnesses in their petition for writs of amparo and habeas data.
CA justices asked NUPL to comment on the issue raised by Miranda.
Meanwhile, the CA has set eight hearing dates to hear the testimonies of the witnesses.
NUPL wants the high court to issue writs of amparo and habeas data.
