OSG clarifies submission of ‘tokhang’ documents
The Office of the Solicitor General on Thursday clarified reports claiming that state lawyers have failed to submit before the Supreme Court “tokhang” documents.
In a statement, the OSG clarified that it only objected to furnish the petitioners copies of the documents because it contained sensitive issues involving national security matters.
Just recently, Malacañang announced that it will abide by the SC ruling to release documents on the anti-illegal drug campaign.
“Unless it reverses itself upon a motion for reconsideration by the Solicitor General, obedience to its ruling should come as a matter of course,” said Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo.
“We always follow the rule of law. The Supreme Court has spoken,” he also said.
