Ombudsman personnel files obstruction of justice complaint vs Taguig City personnel

A person detailed at the Office of the Ombudsman filed a complaint for unjust vexation and obstruction of justice against personnel of the Taguig Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) after a confrontation during an inspection in the city last week.

The complaint was filed by Ephrim Araza on Monday before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.

Named respondents were Taguig POSO members Rolando Iguis, Earl Ramirez, Mac Paña, Jeron Iguis, and John Rimzkie Delloro.

This came after Office of the Ombudsman personnel conducting an inspection along C-6 on Friday clashed with Taguig POSO members.

Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla earlier said his office’s personnel were flying a drone in the area to take photos, but the Taguig personnel allegedly tried to stop their activities even if they had introduced themselves as coming from the Office of the Ombudsman.

The Taguig City government, in a statement, said it was a misunderstanding during a routine verification by POSO personnel and there was no intent to interfere with the Ombudsman’s activities.

It said the POSO team went to check after it spotted an unmarked black pickup parked along the bike lane of C6 Road in Barangay Sta. Ana, as well as individuals in civilian clothes operating a drone.
