Oli Reyes pushes for more female mayors
Abogado Oli Reyes is busy checking election data. The abogado noted that 10 of the biggest cities in the Philippines are yet to elect a female mayor.
The female mayors who have been elected in the Philippines mostly belong to families where a male relative had previously served as mayor. That fact has made the election of a woman mayor seem less heralded as a progressive milestone.

Reyes shared that this includes Manila, Cebu, Caloocan and Cagayan de Oro. The abogado added that Antipolo elected its first female mayor last Monday only.
The abogado stated that Paranaque, Pateros, Valenzuela and Baguio are yet to follow the said city’s lead. He also said that most of these females were only elected if a male relative has previously held the same position.
Representation issue talaga to eh!
