Nursing course can prepare future lawyers, says Dexter Lopoz

Lawyer Dexter Lopoz recently returned to his alma mater, San Pedro College (SPC) in Davao City, to share his journey from studying nursing to becoming a lawyer.

Lopoz said studying in SPC actually helped him and fellow nursing graduates when they started studying law.

He noted that he’s not the only SPC nursing graduate who eventually became a lawyer.

“The strict and rigid training in SPC’s BS Nursing course helped a lot in preparing us for Ateneo Law’s rigorous legal instruction. NO STIR!” Lopoz said.

Other nursing graduates are now heads of offices in various government agencies as well as corporate institutions in Davao Region, he said.

He talked about his experience during SPC’s 70th Founding Anniversary, where he was invited to speak in the Balik Turo Program for alumni to share their professional journeys.

He said he had a great time and hopes he inspired other nursing students to stay true to SPC’s mantra: “LOVE SERVES. Serving without expecting anything in return.”
