There will be no cover-up in the investigation of allegedly anomalous flood control projects in Taguig City, Malacanang assured on Monday.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro made the remarks amid Senator Panfilo Lacson’s questions over a supposed project in Taguig City, but the coordinates of the project were located somewhere in the Visayas.
She said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. already ordered a probe into the controversy, including officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways who might be involved.
She said the DPWH is also looking into the coordinates raised by Lacson, who said the geotagged photos of the Taguig City flood control projects reflected coordinates in Leyte.
He also alleged that the project’s contractor is linked to the controversial Discaya couple.
Lacson’s questions arose after Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said his agency has not yet found a ghost project in Taguig City.
Castro said Dizon was referring to conclusive ghost projects, and that the DPWH chief also stressed the need for a thorough, comprehensive investigation of the claims.
