NBI to look into contents of missing lawyer’s phone as search continues
The National Bureau of Investigation will be diving into a digital search on the whereabouts of missing lawyer Ryan Oliva, 11 days after he was last seen by friends.
In a statement, NBI Director Ferdinand Lavin said that his team now holds the mobile phone of the UP Law professor and Department of Tourism official, with the Oliva family having given consent to probe its contents.
“We already have the mobile phone of Atty Ryan found inside his bag recovered in Lubang, and will submit the same for digital forensic autopsy,” Lavin told reporters.
That phone could be the closest clue to where Oliva is. Oliva’s things, including his wallet and cards, washed ashore in Looc, Occidental Mindoro and was found by a local last week.
