NBI flags 47 flood control projects in ‘Pulong Duterte’ district

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has found “red flags” in 47 of 100 flood control projects in the 1st District of Davao City, the district of Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte.

NBI Director Melvin Matibag said the projects were among those worth a total of P1.9 billion and were reportedly awarded to a single contractor.

He said the NBI found documents indicating problems in several projects, including suspected ghost and substandard projects.

The bureau plans to issue subpoenas to 51 individuals linked to three construction companies involved in the projects, including Genesis88 Construction.

Matibag said the NBI obtained the documents from the DPWH as part of its ongoing investigation into the flood control projects.#
