NBI files more charges vs. Norman Mangusin aka ‘Francis Leo Marcos’
More charges have been filed against internet personality Norman Mangusin aka ‘Francis Leo Marcos, ” who was recently arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation for alleged violation of the Optometry Law.
Marcos, as of this writing, remained under NBI custody in Manila.
According to NBI Cyber Crime Division Chief Victor Lorenzo, charges for violation of the Anti-Alias Law and inciting to sedition have been filed against Marcos, host of internet program ‘Mayaman Challenge.’
Lorenzo disclosed that Marcos’ real name is Norman Mangusin and he doesn’t have a judicial declaration to use the name Francis Leo Marcos or simply ‘FLM’ to his legion of fans.
Also, Lorenzo said Marcos may have ‘committed’ inciting to sedition when he claimed in one of his expletive-laden videos that residents of the posh Green Meadows Subdivision were not helping, and insensitive to the plight of the poor.
This, Lorenzo stressed, was tantamount to agitating the poor to hate, and possibly harm those affluent people and their families.
Just recently, NBI agents arrested Marcos for violation of the Optometry Law after he was accused of distributing eyeglasses without necessary permits.
He was nabbed in his Quezon City residence by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by a court in Baguio City.
Lorenzo said that Marcos’ arrest stemmed from a complaint by the Philippine Association of Ophthalmology.
Marcos became ‘popular’ for his hit ‘Mayaman Challenge’ on social network where he would dare his affluent neighbors and friends to donate money and basic goods like rice to the poor.
He once reportedly claimed that he’s related to the family of former Philippine strongman Ferdinand Marcos.
But the camp of former senator Bongbong Marcos through his spokesperson, lawyer Vic Rodriguez, denied his claims of being related to the clan.
