NBI eyes HDO vs Kapa execs
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is seriously considering applying for a hold departure order against officers of the Kapa Ministry International to prevent them from hastily leaving the country to avoid prosecution.
NBI Deputy Director for Regional Operation Service Antonio Pagatpat bared that his office is now coordinating with Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra for the probability of applying for an HDO.
“I understand that he was in contact with the DOJ Secretary Guevarra for this purpose,” Pagatpat said.
Kapa Community Ministry International was tagged in an alleged multi-billion-investment scam.
Ealier, the NBI announced that it was seriously considering of filing charges for violation of the Securities Regulation Code and large-scale estafa, a non-bailable offense against the group’s leaders led by pastor Joel Apolinario.
At least 14 search warrants were enforced against known offices of the organizations in Taytay, Rizal; Barangay San Geronimo in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya; and in Barangay Poblacion in Compostela, Cebu.
Aside from documents, seized were PHP2.2 million and PHP300,000 in cash respectively in two separate offices.
