Nadala ng damdamin! Netizens apologize for tweeting photos of 11 men involved in Dacera’s death
Some netizens are now retracting the harsh remarks and condemnation towards 11 men who spent New Year’s Eve partying with flight attendant Christine Dacera, who later on was found dead inside a Makati hotel room.
There was initial uproar after police labeled her death as a rape-slay incident, prompting many netizens to condemn the act in seek justice for Dacera’s death. Some even circulated the names and photos of the men who were with her that night at the City Garden Hotel, only to take it back days later when the circumstances looked shady.
Some have started saying sorry for tweeting rabidly against the suspects out of anger.
“Guys, I just deleted my tweet re: Christine Dacera. With my reach, it was imprudent & irresponsible of me to have tweeted in such an emotional, triggered state w/o having all the facts. I published inaccurate information w/ so many blinders on, & have unwittingly wronged others,” Activist Francis Baraan IV wrote.

Frankie Pangilinan, daughter of Megastar Sharon Cuneta and abogado Senator Kiko Pangilinan, also said her regrets.
i will withhold opinions until further, accurate information is dispersed, but i would like to apologize for the initial impassioned tweets here below :((( all my other sentiments, however, remain true — respect is better than protection, and rape is and always will be terrible😔 https://t.co/UsHgDjeyqP

I apologize for liking, retweeting, sending any tweets convicting the 11 of any rape charges.

I also admit that I felt anger towards the suspects as rape is a taboo topic here in the Philippines. There are still a lot of misconceptions and victim blaming which is why I talked about it. I apologize. https://t.co/aESFMIs6gu

It showed how incompetent the PNP is. How they fabricated a story which incriminated a lot of people.
However, this showed how people still blame victims of rape. (Which was insinuated by the PNP)
I admit and I apologize for letting my emotions get the best of me.

Miss Trans Global 2020 Mela Habijan also apologized. “I, too, over reacted. I got triggered by the news that a young woman died and was presupposed to have been a victim of rape. I also shared a tweet bearing the names of the suspects without looking into their backgrounds. And when I did, it was too late,” she said in a tweet.

A second autopsy is being performed on Dacera’s body to determine cause of death after the first one done by Makati police investigators pointed to aneurysm without acknowledging the many bruises which the PAL Express stewardess incurred.
