Law professor and sports lawyer Mickey Ingles is in for some heavy lifting.

Ingles announced that he has been appointed to the Court of Justice of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF).

“Excited to return the trust and do some heavy lifting (*pun intended*) and resolve disputes in the IPF,” Ingles said in a Facebook post.

The IPF is the international governing body for powerlifting, organizing competitions and establishing rules and standards for the sport.

The IPF Court of Justice addresses disputes and disciplinary, ethical, and governance-related issues in the organizations.

Ingles specializes in sports law and has authored the book “Laws for Sports and the Sporty,” a guide to Philippine sports law.

He also launched the Sports Law Institute and Learning Center, a research center that seeks to uplift Philippine sports through law.
