Meet the OSG abogados handling ABS-CBN franchise renewal case
The Office of the Solicitor General filed quo warranto petition against the franchise renewal of TV network, ABS-CBN. The team is being led by the Solicitor General himself, Jose Calida.
Prior to becoming SolGen, Calida also served during the Arroyo Administration as an undersecretary for the Department of Justice and an Executive Director of the Dangerous Drugs Board. The abogado graduated from the Ateneo Law School in 1973 and was immediately admitted to the Bar a year after having almost perfect marks in Criminal Law, Taxation, and Civil Law. The abogado is also a member of the Aquila Legis fraternity.
Also joining the legal team is Assistant Solicitor General Renan E. Ramos. Appointed in April 2003, the abogado is a UP College of Law alumnus and one of the longest staying lawyer in its legal division.
Abogado Antonia Edita Dizon also joined in the case. The San Beda College of Law alumna is also an Assistant Solicitor General appointed in the OSG on December 2003.
Another female Assistant Solicitor General is part of the team as abogado Marissa Dela Cruz-Galandines signed off on the petition. The abogado is also a San Beda College of Law graduate appointed to the OSG in March 2004.
Another San Beda College of Law alumnus, Bernard Hernandez is also part of the OSG team. The Assistant Solicitor General was appointed in March 2004.
Finally, abogado Vida San Vicente was also one of the Asisstant Solicitor General brought in to handle the case. She is a UP College of Law alumna appointed to the office in March of 2004.
