Mayor Jennifer Barzaga wins Cavite 4th District special election

Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer Austria Barzaga, mother of expelled lawmaker Kiko Barzaga, has been proclaimed the new representative of Cavite’s 4th District after winning Saturday’s special election with 201,893 votes.

Barzaga defeated four other candidates, including former Dasmariñas Vice Mayor Raul Rex Rosario Mangubat, who conceded the race Saturday night.

She will fill the congressional seat vacated by her son, who was expelled by the House of Representatives on June 2.#
