Polish President Karol Nawrocki will be in the Philippines for a state visit from October 5 to 8, the first ever visit by a Polish head of state to the country and a significant milestone in Philippines-Poland relations.
In a statement, Malacanang said the state visit of the Polish President is “expected to further strengthen Philippines-Poland relations and pave the way for closer cooperation in sectors of mutual interest.”
President Ferdinand Marcos Ir. will welcome Nawrocki and is expected to engage the foreign leader in talks covering priority areas for cooperation, such as defense and security, trade and investment, agriculture, science and technology, ICT, legal cooperation, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and international developments.
The visit builds on recent progress in bilateral relations, following the inaugural meeting of the Philippines-Poland Joint Defense Cooperation Committee in Warsaw in July 2026, and the 7th Philippines-Poland Political Consultations in Manila in September 2026.
The Philippines and Poland formally established diplomatic relations on 22 September 1973, and have seen a revitalization of ties over the past decade.
Poland is a growing economic partner of the Philippines, ranking as Manila’s 28th largest trading partner in 2025. It is also home to an estimated 25,000 Filipinos.
Poland recently acceded to the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC), alongside Lithuania, Romania and Sweden during the 50th anniversary commemorative activities for the TAC held in Manila in July 2026, under the Philippines’ Chairship of ASEAN.
