Marcos sends sympathies to UAE vice president over brother’s passing

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday expressed his sympathies over the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, brother of United Arab Emirates Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Ahmed was the deputy chairman of Dubai Police and Public Security. He passed away at the age of 76.

“I extend my deepest and sincerest sympathies to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the passing of his beloved brother His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,” Marcos said in a Facebook post.

The President said his family, as well as Filipinos and the government, “join the people of the Emirate of Dubai and the Al Maktoum family in mourning.”

“May God grant him mercy and eternity in Paradise, and grant the Al Maktoum family patience, strength, and solace during this difficult time,” Marcos added.
