President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday extended his condolences to Nepal after deadly flash floods struck villages on the Nepal-China border.

“The Philippines extends its deepest condolences to our friends in Nepal and to all those affected by the deadly flash flood yesterday,” Marcos said in a post on X.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to those who lost family, loved ones, and friends. Please accept our most heartfelt prayers for strength in this difficult time,” he added.

It was reported that at least 270 bodies have been found following Wednesday’s devastating flash flooding, while more than 1,300 remain missing.

Earlier, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro said there were no reported Filipino casualties as of Thursday morning.
